U13's Shield Champions 2015/2016

This Saturday our under 13's took to the field in their final game of the season against Croom .This was a winner takes all match as both teams had a chance of taking home the shield. The game started spritely and the instruction which was dished to the team before kick-off was very evident in the early stages, possession was bossed and several attacking sequences were executed one after another. Within the first 15 minutes all the play seemed to be heading one direction in search of the first goal and the Croom defence and keeper were not given a seconds rest, it seemed the ball which was being used must have been like a rock, as shot after shot deemed un-effective. After surviving the early onslaught Croom worked the ball down field and created a 1v1 inside our 18 yard box, our defender must have missed the pressing sessions we did during the season and lunged in toward the ball catching the opposing player and conceding a penalty.

U14 Gaynor cup games

Day 1

Our first game was against a well backed Galway side. Our girls were under pressure from the off but the midfield and defence were awesome and worked so hard for the team. Our Keeper was outstanding in both halves using her height very well and keeping us in the game in the first half. 0-0 HT. Second half the County girls pushed forward and created some chances of their own but again the Galway defence were strong. then came to opener a very well taken strike by the Galway #10 after winning the ball on the right wing ran towards goal and slotted to the keepers right. good goal. Again our girls pushed and pushed but were caught again with a second great chip of our keeper late on. 2-0 win for Galway but our girls put up some fight.

Best of luck to all starting their exams today. Remember its only an exam and is not the end of the world. relax and perform to your best. Whats meant for you will not pass you.

Knocklong/Hospital V Cappamore U14 Boys

U14 boys - Knocklong/Hospital v Cappamore

It was a case of all hands to the pumps for our game against Cappamore with players being called in from our U11s U12s and our U14s girls team and id just like to say that not one of them let anyone down we may have lost 3-1 but there were some excellent perfomances not least from captain MIcheal O'Donnell who covered every blade of grass. Dylan O'Sullivan was outstanding in goal. The backs of Jack O'Reilly, Nathan Carroll, Celena Sherin Ava O keeffe and Johnny Driscoll never gave up. Ben and Bailey Ryan showed plenty of spirit, Connor Finn never stoped working and upfront Jack O'Keeffe chased everything that moved and then there was Adam Sheehan who scored 1

All in all they deserved more but an enjoyable and entertaining game, final score Knocklong/Hospital 1 Cappamore 3.

Well done all

Match reports to follow
Limerick County U12 Boys Etp Vs Kerry District League - Munster Interleague Match 2

In our 2nd match of the day v Kerry an entertaining 0-0 draw was the outcome. Another clean sheet & solid goalkeeping display from Jack Mc. This game was more open despite the final score and both Cathal o Mahoney & Killian Ahern unfortunate not to score. Darragh o Brien was bossing the midfield battle. Noah Patterson's guile with Adam Hickey gave us a solid look at the back.

Limerick County U12 Boys Etp Vs Kerry District League - Munster Interleague Match 1

Limerick County U12 Boys Etp hosted Kerry District League in the Munster interleague in Charleville on Sunday and came away with a fantastic 1-0 win. Two evenly matched sides began and Kerry started quicker and delivered a couple of dangerous corners which were dealt safely by Jack McNamara the Co keeper. We started to take control of game especially in the middle of the park John English, Joe Farrell along with Harry Fox & Colin Quaid were playing really well as a unit and setting the tone ably supported by Our two over lapping fullbacks Eoin o Connor & Ewan Dillon who excelled throughout.
