In the summer of 1991 a small group of people decided to enter an u16 team into the Limerick County Schoolboy League thus heralding the birth of Cappamore Celtic F.C.

The Officers of the club were Secretary – P.J. Quirke Chairman – Gerard Ryan, Treasurer – John Mulready with a committee comprising of John Devine, Davy Charles, Tony & Breda Dunne (R.I.P.), Jody Carroll and Johnny O’Connor.

The following year 1992 saw an u18 team established under the auspices of the LDMC (Limerick District League). With manager on board they finished a very creditable 3rd in their league just 1 point off promotion. Cappamore Celtic goal keeper that day was none other than Noel Mooney formally of Cork city and Limerick FC.

Another step up the ladder was soon reached when in 1993 a junior team was introduced into Division 4A of the Limerick District League. Within 2 years of been formed the club now had U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and junior team. Such a great achievement for a group of dedicated people in an area where GAA was always number 1.

Johnny Ryan (N), Pat Maher, Mike O’Connor and Donal McKenna had by now joined the committee and were to go on and prove such a great asset to the club in their various roles within the club.
